Qualifications

• Current NC Certified Peer Support Specialist.
• Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery and eligibility for NC PSS certification.
• Commitment to the philosophy of peer support and recovery.
• Ability to receive guidance, training, and mentoring to grow skills.
• Demonstrates leadership by modeling PRN's mission and values.
• Ability to interact effectively with the public, providers, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Share personal experience to encourage mental health wellness and recovery.
• Assist in connecting with mental health services and local resources.
• Provide telephone support via the 24-hour peer warm line.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and perform cleaning duties as needed.
• Support guests through all phases of their stay and during discharge planning.
• Collaborate with the Respite team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
• Document, track, and report as required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by leadership.
