Promise Resource Network in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Shelter Plus Care Peer Support Specialist to help residents maintain tenancy and improve independence through SAMSHA's 8 Dimensions of Wellness.

The role involves assisting with leases, resolving tenancy issues, budgeting, accessing documents, advocating for residents, and working with case managers. Requires NC certification and commitment to trauma-informed care. Full-time position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist or eligible to become certified.
• Ability to interact effectively with residents and stakeholders and demonstrate empathy.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in understanding and complying with lease agreements and housing rules.
• Support peers in resolving tenancy issues, including landlord disputes, rent arrears, or housing inspections.
• Assist peers in obtaining vital documents such as birth certificates, official ID, or social security cards.
• Promote independent living skills including budgeting, cleaning, and home maintenance.
• Maintain regular face-to-face contact to ensure a safe and thriving living environment.
