Job summary

The Advocate role at 10 BCFS Health and Human Services requires trauma‑informed, relational advocacy and case management for survivors, ensuring high‑quality support in crisis and long‑term situations.

This position involves crisis response, safety planning, documentation, after‑hours coverage, and travel within the region to coordinate services with partners while adhering to program standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, sociology, or a closely related field of study.
• Experience with victims of human trafficking, child abuse and neglect, or youth experiencing homelessness and/or addiction.
• 2–3 years of case management and/or crisis intervention experience.
• Maintain licenses and certifications (First Aid, CPR, Emergency Behavior Intervention, OAG Sexual Abuse Program, State Driver’s License) as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma‑informed advocacy and case management to survivors in crisis and long‑term contexts.
• Immediate crisis response, safety planning, case documentation, and coordination of ongoing services.
• After‑hours and weekend crisis coverage; participate in on‑call rotation; respond during emergencies.
• Use personal vehicle for mobile work; meet 90‑minute crisis response targets and travel regionally.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and program guidelines; manage caseloads per policy and contract standards.
• Document progress toward risk reduction and service goals; complete documentation within required timelines.
• Transport clients to hospitals, police stations, DFPS offices, shelters, or incident locations.
• Maintain daily/weekly client contacts; build rapport and ensure accessibility of services.
• Engage with community stakeholders; participate in meetings and coordinate with partners.
• Attend workshops and maintain accurate records, files, forms, and statistics.
