Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC in Pennsauken, NJ is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to assist the transportation manager in coordinating delivery and backhauls, training staff, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will supervise daily activities, enforce SOPs, manage schedules and budgets, and collaborate with warehouse and customer service to resolve delivery issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred in business or supply chain.
• 2–4 years of transportation experience or training.
• Class A CDL preferred but not required; DOT regulations training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily work and safety of transportation associates.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA) and maintain accurate logs.
• Oversee labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
• Prepare work schedules including extra days and shifts as needed.
• Assist with training of new associates, including cross-training.
• Direct proper selection and utilization of company assets in support of the delivery department.
• Coordinate required repairs with proper departments as necessary.
• Review delivery functions and productivity reporting; suggest efficiency ideas and cost reductions.
