Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee daily activities of delivery and backhaul operations. You will supervise associates, ensure DOT/OSHA compliance, and promote safety and efficiency in routing and service.

Responsibilities include training staff, scheduling, asset utilization, performance reporting, and collaborating with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve issues. Flexibility for extended hours and travel as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of transportation experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily work and safety of transportation associates and enforce SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA and other regulatory requirements; maintain accurate logs.
• Manage labor hours and supplies within budget; prepare work schedules as needed.
• Assist with training of new associates and cross-training of existing staff.
• Direct selection and use of company assets to support delivery operations.
• Coordinate repairs with appropriate departments and monitor equipment condition.
• Review delivery productivity and implement efficiency or cost-reduction measures.
• Lead safety initiatives with the safety manager and conduct investigations as needed.
• Communicate with warehouse and customer service to resolve delivery issues.
• Visit customer locations to assess delivery challenges and address concerns.
• Maintain associate morale and foster engagement through regular meetings.
• Ensure policy understanding and consistent application across the team.
