Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc seeks a Transportation Supervisor to support the manager in guiding delivery and backhaul activities. You will train and supervise transportation staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote safety and security within the department.

You will monitor DOT/OSHA compliance, manage labor and supplies, and coordinate with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve delivery issues. The role requires leadership, planning, and strong communication skills to meet service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 2-4 year degree preferred in business management or supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily work and safety of transportation associates and ensure SOPs are followed.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA, etc.) and maintain accurate electronic logs.
• Manage labor hours and consumables within budget; prepare schedules and shifts as needed.
• Assist with training of new associates and cross-training of existing staff.
• Coordinate use of company assets to support delivery operations and arrange repairs as needed.
• Review delivery performance and implement efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
• Communicate with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve customer or delivery issues.
• Lead meetings to discuss policies, procedures and safety practices with staff.
