Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking a Night Shift Transportation Supervisor to support the Transportation Manager in supervising delivery and backhauls, training associates, and ensuring DOT and safety compliance. The role requires overnight coverage, adherence to SOPs, and cost-conscious scheduling.

Responsibilities include directing daily work, coordinating with Warehouse and Customer Service teams, and fostering positive associate relations while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT rules.
• Ability to use spreadsheets and word processing software.
• Preference for 2–4 year college degree in Business/Logistics or similar.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work and safety of Transportation Associates, including SOP adherence.
• Ensures compliance with DOT/OSHA and regulatory agencies; maintains logs.
• Prepares labor schedules and manages shifts within budget.
• Assists with training of new and existing associates.
• Oversees asset utilization and coordinates repairs as needed.
• Reviews delivery functions and suggests efficiency improvements.
• Enforces company policies and conducts safety trainings with the Safety Manager.
• Manages staff selection, development, and performance reviews.
