Job summary

Ulteig Engineers, Inc. seeks a strategic Market Leader/Senior Project Manager for Transportation to drive regional market growth in the Mountain West/Desert Southwest.

You will lead high-profile projects, manage client relationships, and shape a national transportation strategy with the Transportation Lifeline Sector. You will collaborate with CTLs and technical teams, be active on regional boards, and travel up to 50% while supporting delivery excellence and market expansion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, with a PE a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development and/or consulting in the transportation industry required, ideally at a consulting/professional services firm.
• Experience in transportation planning, engineering, design, consulting, construction, and/or project management techniques and philosophies required, with direct expertise in one or more of our core capabilities preferred.
• Deep understanding of the Mountain West and/or Desert Southwest transportation market preferred, including market dynamics, policy, competitive landscape, and more.
• Demonstrated experience in creating and building a pipeline of opportunities and closing high-value business.
• CRM software experience with D365 CRM, Salesforce, and Power BI is desired.
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
• Independent judgment and initiative are required.
• Willing to travel up to 50% within the Mountain West and Desert Southwest regions and outside as needed.
• Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Own the Mountain West/Desert Southwest market, in service to Ulteig's national strategy for the Transportation market.
• Develop, share, and leverage a deep command of regional market dynamics and client needs.
• Lead high-profile projects in the region with targeted billability.
• Communicate with excellence in proposals and emails.
• Listen to understand client needs and guide technical teams.
• Provide oversight to CTLs and project managers on client relationships and business development.
• Nurture Ulteig's reputation with clients, partners, and subconsultants.
• Build diverse, high-value relationships across teams and clients.
• Identify opportunities across transportation service lines.
• Close opportunities and ensure delivery excellence.
• Maintain data on client contacts, budgets, and connectivity initiatives.
