Job summary

Werner Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Manager to build strong driver relationships and meet driver needs such as home time, payroll, and equipment issues.

You will partner with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize loads and balance miles, stops, and freight types while aligning with customer expectations and Werner's service goals. You will interface with billing, safety, payroll, maintenance, and external vendors, and work with the Operations Manager to maintain a full

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Admin, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics preferred.
• 2–3 years of fleet management or transportation experience in truckload industry preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to operate a computer terminal and satellite communications system.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships by understanding and meeting driver needs (home time, payroll, equipment issues, etc.).
• Partner with the Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads based on origin, destination, freight type, miles, stops, and driver availability.
• Understand and adhere to customer dynamics, service expectations, goals and initiatives to improve value for the Customer and Werner.
• Interface with billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance, and external vendors.
• Work with Dedicated Logistics Manager and/or Operations Manager to maintain a full board of drivers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned and ensure timely attendance per schedule.
