BKF Engineers in California seeks a Senior Construction Manager to serve as the Owner’s professional representative on bridge, roadway and civil construction projects. The role emphasizes leadership of field teams, adherence to contract documents, and rigorous quality control.

The position requires 8+ years in construction contract management, a California PE license, and strong coordination with CALTRANS/local agencies.

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering required and CA PE license preferred.
8+ years of construction contract management experience on roadway/bridge projects.
Working knowledge of CALTRANS/local agency processes and coordination on federally funded projects desirable.
Ability to lead and manage professional staff and maintain project profitability.

Responsibilities

Serve as Owner’s professional representative on bridge, roadway, and civil construction projects.
Lead construction engineering duties for roadways and bridges.
Ensure project Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
Manage staff and contract administration.
Review change orders, shop drawings, materials testing, and surveying activities.
Conduct weekly project meetings and oversee utility coordination.
Prepare and review project documentation for conformity and quality assurance.
Assist management as a technical advisor in civil construction practices.
