Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking an experienced civil construction professional to act as the Owner's representative on major bridge and roadway projects. You will ensure work aligns with contract documents and regulatory requirements, guiding QA/QC, documentation, and coordination across offices.

The role requires a California PE, 7+ years in contract management, and the ability to lead technical staff while coordinating with field teams and agencies.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• California registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
• 7+ years construction contract management experience related to roadway and/or bridge construction projects.
• Working knowledge of CALTRANS and local agency projects, as well as document coordination on federally funded projects desired.
• Able to effectively manage people.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Owner's professional representative on bridge, roadway, and general civil related construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract documents.
• Work with technical field inspectors and project team to meet civil construction goals.
• Perform construction engineering duties for roadways and bridges.
• Manage project Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
• Supervise staff and manage contracts and administration.
• Review change orders, shop drawings, materials testing, and surveying activities.
• Conduct weekly project meetings and oversee utility coordination.
• Prepare progress and final documentation per State and Federal Highway Administration requirements.
