Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking an experienced civil construction leader to serve as the Owner’s professional representative on bridge, roadway, and related civil construction projects. You will ensure work complies with contract documents and meets quality standards.

The role requires a California-registered PE and a BS in Civil Engineering, with 7+ years of project management experience. The position offers a hybrid work model across California locations and travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering and California PE license.
• 7+ years construction contract management experience on roadway/bridge projects.
• Working knowledge of CALTRANS/local agency projects; federal funding knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to effectively manage people.

Responsibilities

• Works with project team to ensure civil construction goals are met.
• Performs construction engineering duties on roadways and bridges.
• Oversees quality control and quality assurance on projects.
• Manages professional and technical staff and contract administration.
• Reviews change orders, shop drawings, materials testing, and surveying activities.
• Conducts weekly project meetings and coordinates utility work.
• Ensures compliance with EEO/labor requirements.
• Prepares and reviews project documentation for conformity and QA.
• Serves as primary client contact and advisor on civil construction practices.
