Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Continuous Improvement Engineer to apply data-driven CI, lean methods, and automation efforts across operations. You will lead cross-functional projects, analyze processes, and drive value in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Responsibilities include data analytics, Kaizen events, and coaching teams in CI methods to achieve tangible improvements and sustainment across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field required.
• 5+ years in Transportation or Supply Chain industry required.
• TransportationExperience (TMS, Dedicated, FTL, LTL) required.
• MS Office Suite expert with Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
• PowerBI/Tableau and SQL/DAX data skills are preferred.
• Lean methods (PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S) and process improvement experience required.
• Knowledge of dedicated services and managed transportation networks; tools like JDA/OTM preferred.
• Lean methodology and supply chain certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps processes; identifies gaps; implements CI plans.
• Manages CI projects and supports go-live and certifications; identifies automation opportunities.
• Develops competency in engineering methods and coaches teams in CI and Lean principles.
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events; coaches process owners on lean practices.
• Provides regular data-driven progress reports and recommends supply chain strategy changes.
• Interacts with operations management and customers to drive value.
