Job summary

Apex Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician to provide CADD drafting and field support within the Transportation Group. The role supports highway, urban roadway, and municipal projects from flexible Apex office locations or hybrid work.

Focus is on Transportation projects with potential support to Municipal and Water/Wastewater groups. Candidates should apply basic civil engineering design principles in both office and field settings and may play an RPR role on construction

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• An Associate's degree or technical drafting degree is highly desirable (applicable experience may be accepted).
• 2–5 years of experience preferred; willingness to travel and work outdoors may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Support project managers, engineers and lead technicians in developing plans and specifications.
• Calculate dimensions, quantities, and profiles for roadways and utilities with calculators and software.
• Learn and apply CAD standards and client requirements in design work.
• Potentially serve as resident project representative (RPR) in field during construction in MN or ND.
