Job summary

Apex Engineering Group is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Transportation Group from any Apex office, with hybrid options. The role focuses on CADD drafting and field support for highway and municipal projects, collaborating with PMs and senior engineers.

Responsibilities include office and field tasks, accuracy in drawings, and proactive communication with project teams. Travel and overtime may be required during construction season, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associates degree in Engineering Technology or Technical Drafting is highly desirable.
• 2–5 years of experience is preferred.
• Willingness to travel and work in team environments.
• Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil-3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, and MicroStation Connect design software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings from rough sketches and surveys using CADD software.
• Follow directions from Project Managers and Engineers to develop plans.
• Calculate dimensions, square footage, and material quantities for projects.
• Continue learning CADD software to prepare plan documents.
• Assist with construction observation/inspection and field data collection.
• Communicate progress and issues with supervisors and project managers.
