Job summary

Apex Engineering Group seeks an Engineering Technician in the Transportation Group with flexibility to work from any Apex office. The role focuses on CADD drafting and field support for highway and municipal projects, reporting to a Project Manager or Senior Engineer.

Ideal candidates have an engineering tech degree or drafting certification, 2–5 years of related experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or Drafting preferred.
• 2–5 years of related experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel and work in field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Support project engineers with plan development and specifications.
• Calculate dimensions, quantities, and profiles for roadways and utilities.
• Conduct field observations and assist with construction inspection and materials testing.
• Communicate progress and issues to supervisors and project managers.
• Assist as resident project representative (RPR) during construction in MN or ND.
