Job summary

Apex Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician to provide CADD and field support for transportation and municipal projects.

The role offers flexible location from any Apex office or hybrid work arrangements. You will work as part of the Transportation Group, applying civil design principles in the office and in the field, with opportunities to serve as Resident Project Representative on construction sites.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-year Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or Drafting highly desirable.
• 2-5 years of experience preferred.
• Willing to travel and work out of town while fulfilling RPR duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed dimensional drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Follow directions from Project Managers and Lead Technicians in developing project plans and specifications.
• Calculate dimensions, square footage, profiles of roadways and utilities, and material quantities.
• Continue to learn CAD software to prepare plan documents.
• Understand and follow company CAD standards and client CAD standards when required.
• Assist with construction observation, surveying and materials testing.
• Take on Resident Project Representative duties in field construction projects.
• Communicate with contractors and supervisors about progress and issues.
