Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transmission Line Project Engineer to join a national team of Power Delivery professionals. The role supports design of high- and extra-high-voltage transmission lines in multiple locations, including Anchorage.

Primary responsibilities include design, documentation, and client coordination to deliver safe, reliable infrastructure. Ideal candidates hold a PE license and a degree in engineering, with 4+ years in the field, strong software skills (PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, Revit), and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Experience interpreting design codes such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE and ACI.
• 4+ years in transmission line engineering for electric utilities/renewables.
• Hands-on with PLS-CADD, structure analysis, and related drawings/specs.
• Strong stakeholder liaison across environmental, real estate, construction and PM teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare transmission line designs and deliverables using PLS-CADD and related tools.
• Coordinate construction release packages, plans, profiles, and BOMs.
• Lead junior designers and perform QC reviews across teams.
• Attend client meetings and lead design reviews with stakeholders.
• Develop project manhour estimates and schedules, manage multiple tasks.
