Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transmission Line Project Engineer to join our nationwide Power Delivery team. Responsibilities include preparing design deliverables with PLS-CADD, coordinating release packages, and guiding junior staff.

Expect engagement with clients, cost estimates, and field site visits across multiple western locations including Missoula. The role requires a PE license, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and 4+ years in transmission line projects, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Plant 3D and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or related).
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
4+ years of transmission line engineering experience in power/renewables.
Experience with PLS-CADD, transmission structures analysis, drawings and specs.
Experience liaising with stakeholders across environmental, real estate, construction and management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard power market software.

Responsibilities

Prepare technical aspects and deliverables for transmission line design using PLS-CADD.
Coordinate construction release packages for high-voltage lines and bill of materials.
Lead junior team members and conduct quality control reviews.
Identify learning opportunities and share knowledge with teammates.
Attend client meetings and lead design reviews with clients.
Develop project manhours estimates and schedules.
Perform site visits during design, construction and as-built phases.
