Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transmission Line Project Engineer to join our team of power delivery professionals. The role involves delivering technically sound designs for high voltage transmission lines, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and guiding junior staff.

Ideal candidates bring a PE license, a bachelor’s in engineering, and 4+ years in transmission line engineering, with experience in PLS-CADD and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required; PE license preferred.
• Experience with national electrical transmission design codes (NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI).
• 4+ years of transmission line engineering experience in electric utility or renewables.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical deliverables for transmission line design using PLS-CADD and related software.
• Coordinate construction release packages: plan/profile, load trees, structure details, bills of material.
• Mentor junior team members and perform quality reviews across teams.
• Lead client design reviews and participate in stakeholder meetings.
• Develop project manhours estimates and schedules; manage multiple projects.
• Conduct site visits during design, construction and as-built phases.
