QISG is seeking a Design Engineer I to support overhead transmission line design, including planning and analysis to ensure safe, reliable, cost-effective delivery of power. The role uses CAD tools and requires an ABET-accredited degree, knowledge of design codes, and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or similar CAD tools.
• Knowledge of design codes such as NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and drafting with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Support overhead transmission line design with PLS-CADD modeling and line routing.
• Use CAD software for scaled drawings and mapping.
• Apply engineering redlines and ensure drafting accuracy.
• Conduct calculations (voltage drop, cable pulling, flicker analysis, pole loading).
• Prepare joint use authorizations from field data.
• Ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams; maintain project docs.
• Work 40 hours/week, up to 50 hours with occasional overtime.
