Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking aDesign Engineer I to support overhead transmission line design, including modeling, routing, and calculations. You will use CAD tools to produce scaled drawings and ensure accuracy with redlines, while collaborating with engineers to meet safety and quality standards.

The role requires a Civil/Structural or Mechanical engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, knowledge of NESC/IEEE/ANSI/IBC codes, and willingness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Knowledge of engineering drafting and design principles.
• Understanding of design codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC).
• Ability to travel as necessary (up to 10%).

Responsibilities

• Support overhead transmission line design including PLS-CADD modeling and line routing.
• Use AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS for scaled drawings and mapping.
• Implement engineering redlines with precision before final drafting.
• Perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop and pole loading.
• Prepare joint utility use authorizations from field data and redlines.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and design codes (NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC).
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to develop solutions.
• Maintain detailed project documentation and calculations.
• Work 40 hours/week with potential up to 50 hours and overtime.
