Job summary

Quanta Services is seeking a Design Engineer I for its QISG team to support overhead transmission line design, perform CAD drafting, and assist with line routing and structural analyses. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and reliable power delivery across projects.

The candidate will use AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS, perform engineering calculations, and ensure compliance with applicable codes while collaborating with project teams.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and drafting principles.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of time.

Responsibilities

• Support overhead transmission line design including PLS-CADD modeling and line routing.
• Use AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS for scaled drawings and mapping.
• Perform engineering calculations and prepare design criteria and loading assessments.
• Ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC and project standards.
• Maintain project documentation and support calculations.
