Job summary

HDR is seeking a national Transmission EPC Principal within our Power Delivery Practice to drive collaboration between HDR’s global power delivery staff and construction partners. You will lead pursuit development, risk analysis, and transition projects to execution, with a focus on transmission lines and EPC packages.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Civil/Mechanical Engineering, PE license, and PMP certification, plus 10+ years in transmission design and 5+ years leading

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and PE license required; PMP preferred.
• Experience leading EPC project teams and FEED development.
• Strong writing and communication skills; ability to influence and mentor.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pursuit Champion/Manager on Transmission EPC projects and transition to execution.
• Facilitate technical risk analysis, routing, design, and BOM takeoff support with partners and HDR leads.
• Lead scope, schedule and budget development for AD projects and coordinate with land survey, geotechnical, and GIS teams.
• Estimate technical investments pre Go/No-Go and share risk evaluations with leadership.
• Interface with contractors and subconsultants during pursuit and project delivery; drive risk discussions.
• Assist in Go/No-Go discussions, risk assessments, SOQs, proposals, interviews, and negotiations.
• Develop FEED templates and standards; stand up project teams as AD grows.
• Provide technical leadership as engineering manager or discipline lead; ensure smooth handoffs.
• Develop templates, drawings, processes, and standards to support EPC pursuits and projects.
