Job summary

HDR is seeking a national Transmission EPC Principal as part of the Power Delivery Practice's Alternative Delivery leadership. This role drives pursuit-to-execution transitions, manages risk analysis, and coordinates with HDR and partner teams on design, procurement, and construction packages for high‑voltage transmission projects.

The ideal candidate brings a PE license, PMP, 10+ years in transmission design, and proven leadership of EPC engineering teams across multiple AD delivery models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License.
• Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in transmission design.
• Minimum 5 years building and leading engineering teams on EPC projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Pursuit Champion / Manager on Transmission EPC projects and transition to execution teams.
• Facilitate discussion on technical risk analysis and design routing and BOM takeoff support.
• Lead HDR scope, schedule and budget development for AD projects with cross-functional coordination.
• Estimate technical investments; share risk evaluations with leaders to decide pursuits.
• Interface with contractors and HDR subconsultants during pursuit and project delivery.
• Assist in Go/No-Go discussions, risk assessments, SOQs, proposals and interviews.
• Develop FEED templates and templates for transmission line EPC pursuits and projects.
