Job summary

HDR is seeking a national Transmission EPC Principal within our Power Delivery Practice to drive collaboration on EPC projects and pursue opportunities from pursuit to execution. The role requires leadership of engineering teams, FEED development and coordination with multiple disciplines across HDR’s global staff.

The successful candidate will have a PE license, PMP, and 10+ years in transmission design, with strong project management and risk analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License.
• Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in transmission design.
• Minimum 5 years building and leading engineering teams on EPC projects.
• Experience with EPC design and construction packages.
• Experience in transmission line design, procurement and construction including estimating and detailed design.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Pursuit Champion/Manager on Transmission EPC projects and transition to execution after award.
• Lead risk analysis, preliminary routing and design and BOM takeoff support; offer VE & constructability solutions.
• Lead scope, schedule and budget development for AD projects and coordinate with land survey, geotechnical, GIS teams.
• Estimate technical investments and present risk assessments to leaders for Go/No-Go decisions.
• Engage with contractors and HDR subconsultants during pursuit and project execution to discuss risk and mitigation.
• Assist in Go/No-Go discussions, risk assessments, SOQs, proposals and negotiations.
• Develop FEED teams and templates; stand up project teams as AD program grows.
• Provide engineering leadership roles and ensure handoff readiness of projects.
