Job summary

Via is seeking a Road Supervisor to oversee transit operations for Rochester Public Transit. This full-time, in-person role focuses on driver performance, training, rider support, and incident management to ensure safe, reliable service.

Based in Rochester, MN, you may drive as needed. The position requires 40–45 hours weekly, with evenings and weekends possible, emphasizing teamwork and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years' experience in transportation services or similar, with supervision exposure.
• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred.
• CDL with Passenger Endorsement and clean driving record is required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle stressful situations diplomatically.
• Proficient with a tablet and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct performance evaluations of drivers and coach for quality and efficiency.
• Develop and implement training programs for new and current drivers.
• Handle customer service issues and resolve complaints to promote satisfaction.
• Manage real-time operations and creative problem solving.
• Respond to incidents on-site and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale processes and tools.
• Safely operate lift-equipped vehicles for passengers with disabilities.
• Perform pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections.
