Job summary

Via is seeking a Road Supervisor to oversee service operations for Rochester Public Transit in Rochester, MN. You may also drive as needed, leading by example and ensuring excellent customer service for riders.

This full-time, shift-based role requires 40–45 hours per week with 8–9 hour shifts, in-person at the Rochester location. Scheduling may include evenings and weekends and extended hours as business needs arise. A CDL with Passenger Endorsement and a clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in transportation services or related field; at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education or certifications in transportation, logistics, or related field preferred.
• CDL with Passenger Endorsement and a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to handle stressful situations diplomatically.
• Proficient with tablets and standard office software (e.g., Google Suite).
• Knowledge of Rochester city and community.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Successful completion of drug test and background checks is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular driver performance evaluations with coaching.
• Develop and implement training programs for drivers.
• Handle customer service issues to promote passenger satisfaction.
• Prioritize real-time operational issues and implement solutions.
• Respond to accidents/incidents and manage procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale processes and tools.
• Safely operate lift-equipped vehicles for elderly and disabled riders.
• Perform vehicle inspections before and after shifts.
