Job summary

Keolis Transit America in Leesburg, VA is seeking an experienced Dispatcher to coordinate driver assignments, monitor service delays, and communicate ETA to customers.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in dispatch, strong English, multitasking, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a union environment. This role requires reliable transportation, Windows/Excel skills, and knowledge of the Multi County area including DC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a dispatch role.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be dependable with reliable transportation.
• Proficient with Windows and Excel.
• Knowledge of the service area (Multi County area including DC).
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Able to work in a union environment.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Job duties may vary per collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure each driver reports at scheduled work shift time.
• Notify customers of service delays and interruptions via software.
• Answer customer calls and provide directions and ETA.
• Arrange coverage for any call-offs within driver staffing.
• Ensure all operators pull out on time.
• Provide written documentation of incidents requiring follow-up.
• Communicate clearly with others in English.
• Provide clients with location and ETA information promptly.
• Make cost-effective and operationally efficient decisions regarding trips and drivers.
• Monitor Transit Radio System (TRS) and AVL to optimize resources.
• Maintain dispatch logs and complete applicable documentation.
• Perform various administrative duties; calls, courtesy calls and filing.
• Other duties as required.
