Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. seeks a Trailer Technician in Concord, NC. You will perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on trailers, troubleshoot issues, and ensure fleet readiness under supervision.

You may mentor trainees and participate in OE training programs while adhering to safety standards. Shifts may vary; this role requires availability for nights and weekends. Company-provided uniforms and boot program, plus growth opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package accompany this

Qualifications

Must be 18+ with 2 years in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent
At least 1 year experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes
Able to supply own basic tools or purchase through toolbox program
Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed

Responsibilities

Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems and FHWA inspections
Troubleshoot trailer issues and accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and understand SRT and warranty guidelines
Assist with onboarding and mentorship of trailer technician trainees
Participate in OE training for OE repairs
Follow shop safety procedures
Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers
