Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Concord, NC is seeking a Trailer Technician II to perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on trailers and equipment.

You will troubleshoot issues, complete fleet maintenance, and ensure compliance with JB Hunt standards under routine supervision. The role requires knowledge of preventative maintenance, experience with DOT/FHWA inspections and air brakes, and the ability to work outdoors and across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• 2 years of semi-trailer maintenance and repair experience or equivalent education/experience
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes
• Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through toolbox program
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements and across multiple shifts including nights/weekends

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of preventative maintenance and repairs for trailer equipment including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, and air brake systems
• Troubleshoot trailer issues and perform intermediate repairs per company specifications and warranty guidelines
• Assist with onboarding and mentorship of trailer technician trainees and participate in OE repair training
• Maintain safety procedures and professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers
