Job summary
J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Trailer Technician II to perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on trailers and equipment. Under routine supervision, you will troubleshoot issues and ensure fleet readiness to meet company standards.
You will handle preventative maintenance, inspections, and parts replacement while mentoring trainees. The role requires outdoor work, multi-shift flexibility, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent
- At least 1 year of DOT/FHWA inspections experience
- Must supply basic tools or purchase via toolbox program
- Willingness to work outdoors and across shifts, including nights/weekends
Responsibilities
- Perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on trailer equipment per manufacturer specs
- Troubleshoot trailer issues and complete work orders with standard repair times
- Mentor trailer technician trainees and participate in OE training
- Follow shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers
- Maintain compliance with FHWA inspections and safety requirements
