Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic II to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers and refrigeration units. You’ll diagnose, rebuild, and tune engines, electrical systems, and components with minimal supervision in a busy shop environment.

The role requires strong reading/writing English, prior diesel repair experience, and relevant certifications. This position offers a full benefits package, a shift from Sunday to Thursday, and on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Trade school in heavy duty diesel repairs or refrigeration favored.
• ASE PMI PMI certification (T8) preferred.
• Valid Class C license; Class A preferred.
• Engine and refrigeration certifications listed above are advantageous.
• Experience with heavy duty diesel repairs and fleet maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform the functions of a Grade 4 Mechanic.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration.
• Perform simple and complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Diagnose, repair, replace components and tune diesel engines.
• Read and follow service bulletins and manuals.
• Maintain shop tools and complete paperwork accurately.
• Adhere to safety rules and participate in on-call rotations.
