Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a System Operator II in Hawthorne, NY to monitor and operate ITS devices within the Mobility Operations Team. You will respond to incidents, coordinate responses, and support traffic management projects.

The role emphasizes data collection, reporting, and collaboration with NYSDOT staff, with adherence to safety policies. Compensation is $27/hour with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 0-2 years experience with a TMC facility or traffic management.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, spreadsheets and databases.
• Ability to work with NYSDOT staff and partner groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide human monitoring and operation of ITS devices and traffic control devices per SOPs.
• Traffic Incident Management and coordination of roadway responses.
• Dispatch maintenance crews for snow/ice events.
• Record activities in incident and event databases and logs.
• Assist in traffic data collection and system performance troubleshooting.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and document device failures; issue work orders for repairs.
• Respond to notices about roadwork, incidents, and equipment issues.
• Answer inquiries and coordinate Department responses with operational partners.
