Job summary

WSP Hawthorne, NY is seeking a Part Time System Operator I to monitor Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic control devices. You will support traffic incident management, coordinate roadway responses, and dispatch maintenance crews as needed.

The role emphasizes data entry, collaboration with NYSDOT, and adherence to SOPs. A High School diploma and 0–2 years’ experience in a TMC or traffic setting are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of experience with a TMC-type facility or traffic management.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficiency with MS Office and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Provide monitoring and operation of ITS devices and traffic control.
• Manage traffic incidents and coordinate roadway responses.
• Dispatch maintenance crews for snow/ice events.
• Enter data for incidents, events and call logs.
• Assist in data collection and troubleshooting of ATMS/ITS.
