Job summary

The State of New Hampshire's Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Management Communication Specialist I in Concord. This part-time, third-shift role processes and disseminates information via the TMC's Transportation Management System (TMS).

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of 2 years of education and experience after high school.
• Two years in a field including dispatching, communications, emergency response, IT or related field.

Responsibilities

• Scans display wall to obtain traffic management information.
• Communicates with TMC operators and supervisors to coordinate traffic management activities.
• Monitors real-time traffic flow data from multiple sources.
• Operates camera and scans monitors to monitor, verify, and diagnose traffic events.
• Monitors and evaluates environmental conditions and RWIS.
• Uses multi-channel telephone and radio headset to communicate with staff and public about traffic management and events.
• Adheres to risk management, safety, and environmental standards and orders.
