Job summary

WSP is seeking a Traffic Management Center Technician I to join our Mobility Operations Team in Nashville, TN. This role covers night and weekend shifts, with both full-time and part-time opportunities.

You will monitor ITS devices, manage traffic incidents, and coordinate responses to roadway concerns to meet project objectives. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, 0–2 years in a TMC or traffic management, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 0–2 years experience with a TMC or traffic management.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Analytical and organizational abilities.
• Team coordination with TDOT staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide human monitoring and operation of ITS devices and traffic control devices per SOPs.
• Handle Traffic Incident Management and coordinate roadway responses.
• Enter data for incidents, events, and call logs.
• Assist in data collection for system performance and troubleshooting.
• Identify and document device failures and assist with repairs prioritization.
• Respond to notices of roadwork, incidents, or special events and coordinate TDOT responses.
• Answer inquiries and provide roadway condition information to partners.
• Prepare reports and support data requests for evaluation.
