Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems in Shreveport, LA seeks a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and take down lane closures on state highways and busy roadways. You’ll work independently or with a crew, ensuring worker and motorist safety while following project directions.

Responsibilities include transporting materials, positioning signs and warning boards, installing cones, and performing routine equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required and clean driving record.
• 1–3 years of traffic control experience with 2,000+ field hours.
• Must pass background and motor vehicle record checks.
• DOT drug testing compliance required.
• Able to wear safety gear and follow safety rules.
• Reads plans and understands traffic control plans.
• Willingness to travel statewide and work nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT and TMA vehicles to protect workers and zones.
• Place signs, arrow boards, and traffic cones in work areas.
• Set up and monitor traffic control devices and signs.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and pursue safety rules.
• Load and unload traffic control items at shifts’ start/end.

DOT requirements knowledge

Able to lift 70 pounds

Willing to travel statewide

ATSSA TCT training completed
