Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and manage lane closures while ensuring the safety of workers on state highways and other roadways. You will operate traffic control devices, transport materials, and coordinate with crews on implementing plans.

The role requires passing DOT requirements, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel statewide with some overnight stays, nights, and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check including motor vehicle records.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Wear safety equipment (boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, vest).
• Basic reading and writing to comply with road signs and paperwork.
• Ability to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on worksites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs and set up traffic cones and boards.
• Monitor the work zone and load/unload items at shift start/end.
