Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and take down lane closures, ensuring safety on highways and roadways. You will also assemble, deliver, and pick up safety products from job sites while following contractor directions.

The role requires 1–3 years of traffic control experience, valid driver's license, and ability to pass background and drug tests with DOT requirements. Travel statewide and rotating on-call may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. Driver's License and good driving record.
• 1–3 years of traffic control experience with field hours.
• Must pass background check and motor vehicle records check.
• Must pass drug test and meet DOT requirements.
• Wear PPE: safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest.
• Basic reading and writing to comply with signs and paperwork.
• Ability to read plans and follow traffic control plans.
• Good knowledge of state/local roadways; experience with delivery vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds; rotate on-call and travel statewide as needed.
• ATSSA TCT intermediate training is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to and from projects to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas.
• Set up traffic cones and other safety devices.
• Monitor the work zone throughout the shift for proper placement.
• Load traffic control items at the start and end of shifts.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
• Perform basic shop maintenance on equipment.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
