Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Infrastructure Lead on the Exchange team to own the network infrastructure, deployment, and tooling behind a unified trading platform across cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will lead ultra-low-latency networks, design market-data architectures, deploy secure connectivity, and drive observability and automation while mentoring engineers and coordinating with SRE/Infra, Product, and trading teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of network, infrastructure, or SRE engineering experience in latency-sensitive environments.
• Deep hands-on expertise with multicast networking, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, high-availability architectures, and data-center switching.
• Experience leading incident response for production trading systems and coordinating cross-functional resolution.
• Familiarity with Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, SNMP or gRPC telemetry, and automation with Python/Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Own, operate, and optimize ultra-low-latency networks and physical data-center infrastructure for institutional trading across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Design and maintain routing, traffic-segmentation, and market-data architectures using BGP, OSPF, VRFs, PIM, IGMP, and HA platforms.
• Deploy and operate firewalls and secure connectivity across Fortinet and Palo Alto platforms.
• Drive observability and automation with SNMP, gRPC telemetry, latency analyses, and network automation.
• Lead safe production changes, incident response, failover testing, and on-call rotation.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with SRE/Infra, Product, and trading teams to improve reliability.
