Coinbase is building the future of institutional trading. We are seeking an Infrastructure Lead to own the infrastructure, deployment, and tooling behind a unified trading platform that runs across cloud and on-prem venues, keeping latency-sensitive environments fast and reliable.

You will drive reliability, observability, and incident response for 24/7 systems, mentor engineers, and partner with Product, Institutional Markets, and SRE to shape the roadmap.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infra, platform, or SRE engineering with production ownership.
• Experience running latency-sensitive trading infra, on-prem/colocated deployments.
• Proficiency with orchestration tooling, containerized and baremetal deployments, and observability tooling.
• Strong Linux performance and networking fundamentals in latency-critical environments.
• Experience end-to-end: scoping, implementation, deploy safety, monitoring, and incident response.
• Background in regulated or financial environments with reliability as a priority.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight for outputs and cost/quality gains.

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure, deployment, and operational tooling for latency-sensitive, multi-node trading environments across cloud and on-prem.
• Drive reliability and developer velocity, owning observability, deploy safety, and incident response for 24/7 systems.
• Set the operational bar through standards, reviews, and automation, reducing single points of failure.
• Partner with engineers building the trading platform to ensure latency-sensitive systems are operable and performant.
• Mentor engineers and build team resilience in a lean, high-impact environment.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Institutional Markets, and SRE to translate platform needs into a roadmap.
