Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking an Infrastructure Lead for the Exchange team to own and optimize ultra-low-latency networks across cloud and on-prem venues. You will design routing, market-data architectures, and secure connectivity to power institutional trading with high reliability.

You will lead incident response, mentor engineers, and drive automation using Python and Ansible. This role requires 8+ years in latency-sensitive environments and a strong security posture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in network, infrastructure, or SRE with production ownership in latency-sensitive settings.
• Hands-on with multicast networking, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, high-availability data-center switching.
• Lead live incident response, risk management during changes, cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, and telemetry tooling in latency-critical envs.
• Crypto experience a plus; AI usage should be human-supervised and outcome-driven.

Responsibilities

• Own, operate, and optimize ultra-low-latency networks and data-center infra for institutional trading.
• Design routing, traffic segmentation, and market-data architectures with BGP/OSPF/VRFs.
• Deploy and operate security across Fortinet and Palo Alto platforms (IPsec/SSL VPNs).
• Drive observability with SNMP, gRPC telemetry, latency analysis, and automation (Python/Ansible).
• Lead safe production changes, incident response, and 24/7 maintenance with on-call rotation.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with SRE/Infra, Product, and trading teams.
