Coinbase is seeking an experienced Network/SRE engineer to own ultra-low-latency data-center infrastructure supporting institutional trading and market data. You will design, deploy, and operate high-availability networks across on-prem and cloud environments, focusing on fast incident response and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of network, infrastructure, or SRE engineering experience with ownership of production systems in latency-sensitive environments such as financial services or electronic trading.
• Deep hands-on expertise with multicast networking, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, and low-latency data-center switching.
• Proven ability to lead live incident response for production trading systems and coordinate cross-functional resolution.
• Experience with Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, SNMP or gRPC telemetry, and network automation with Python or Ansible.
• Familiarity with exchange or electronic trading concepts; crypto experience is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Own, operate, and optimize resilient, ultra-low-latency networks and data-center infrastructure for institutional trading and market data.
• Design routing, traffic-segmentation, and multicast architectures using BGP/OSPF/VRFs with high-availability platforms.
• Deploy and operate firewalls and secure connectivity across Fortinet and Palo Alto platforms.
• Drive observability and operational excellence using SNMP, telemetry, and network automation.
• Lead safe production changes, incident response, and on-call rotations for 24/7 trading systems.
• Mentor engineers and partner with SRE/Infra and trading teams to improve reliability.
