Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking an Infrastructure Lead on the Exchange team to own the network infrastructure and operational tooling behind a unified trading platform across cloud and on-prem environments. You will maintain ultra-low-latency networks and lead 24/7 trading system reliability.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in latency-sensitive infrastructure, hands-on with BGP/OSPF, VPNs, and network automation. The role offers a remote-first, in-person surge model with quarterly on-site sessions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of network, infrastructure, or SRE engineering experience with ownership of production systems in latency-sensitive environments.
• Hands-on with multicast networking, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, and high-availability data-center switching.
• Lead live incident response for production trading systems and coordinate cross-functional resolution.
• Experience with Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, SNMP or gRPC telemetry, and Python/Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Own, operate, and optimize ultra-low-latency networks and physical data-center infrastructure supporting institutional trading.
• Design and maintain routing, traffic-segmentation, and multicast market-data architectures using BGP, OSPF, VRFs, PIM, IGMP and HA platforms.
• Deploy and operate firewalls and secure connectivity across Fortinet and Palo Alto platforms, including IPsec/SSL VPNs.
• Drive observability and operational excellence through SNMP, gRPC telemetry, latency and packet-loss analysis, and automation.
• Lead safe production changes, incident response, failover testing, and on-call rotation.
• Mentor engineers and partner cross-functionally with SRE/Infra, Product, and trading-system teams.
