Job summary

Coinbase seeks a senior network, infrastructure, or SRE engineer to own and optimize ultra-low-latency trading infrastructure in Seattle. You will manage production-grade data-center networks that support institutional trading, market data, and exchange connectivity.

You'll design high-availability routing, implement secure connectivity with Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls, and drive automation and observability with Python/Ansible, SNMP, and telemetry while leading incidents and on-call

Qualifications

• 8+ years of network, infrastructure, or SRE experience in latency-sensitive environments.
• Hands-on with multicast networking, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, and low-latency data-center switching.
• Experience leading live incident response for production trading systems.
• Familiar with Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls and VPNs; strong Linux networking fundamentals.
• Knowledge of exchange/electronic trading concepts; crypto experience is a plus.
• Ability to use generative AI responsibly with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own, operate, and optimize resilient, ultra-low-latency networks and data-center infrastructure.
• Design routing, traffic-segmentation, and multicast market-data architectures using BGP, OSPF, VRFs, PIM, IGMP, and high-availability platforms.
• Deploy and operate firewalls and secure connectivity across Fortinet and Palo Alto platforms, including IPsec VPNs.
• Drive observability and automation with SNMP, gRPC telemetry, latency and packet-loss analysis, and network automation using Python/Ansible.
• Lead safe production changes, incident response, failover testing, and on-call rotation for 24/7 trading systems.
• Mentor engineers and partner with SRE/Infra, Product, and trading-system teams to improve reliability.
