Job summary

RTX’s Collins Aerospace unit is seeking an experienced mechanical designer to work in a classified environment and develop precision mechanical/electrical design layouts. You will collaborate with mechanical/ electrical engineering teams and prepare design data for release in our document control system.

The role requires a DoD security clearance, US citizenship, and 1+ year of 3D modeling experience with SolidWorks or Siemens NX, with onsite responsibilities in Richardson, TX.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain a US DoD security clearance; US citizenship required.
• 1+ years experience in 3D modeling using SolidWorks or Siemens NX.

Responsibilities

• May perform tasks in a classified closed lab environment.
• Perform advanced technical tasks and design layouts from verbal instructions or models; collaborate with engineering teams.
• Prepare records for release of design data into the company documentation control systems.
• Mentor new mechanical designers in design database and documentation release procedures.
