Job summary

What You Will Do

• May perform tasks in a classified closed lab environment
• Under general supervision: Performs moderately technical tasks using established engineering techniques to create precision mechanical/electrical design layouts from verbal instructions, sketches, existing hardware, or engineering models; collaborates with and receives direction from mechanical/electrical engineering and technical support personnel.
• Performs the preparation of required records for the release of design data and design documentation into the company data and documentation control systems.
• May assist in the area of mentoring new mechanical designers or engineers in the current procedures for design database and documentation release.
• May assist engineering in determining and employing proper specifications for materials, finishes, and processes, connectors or other electrical components, etc. during the design process.
• Applies company, industry, and contractual standards during the preparation of hardware design and documentation.
• Completes the preparation of the necessary technical documentation for the release of hardware design data into the company documentation control system.
• Assists engineering in the preparation of data & documentation during the revision of released artifacts in the document control system.
• Maintains an awareness of contractually controlled company design and documentation requirements.
• CAD/data management tools: Demonstrates competent proficiency
• Problem solving & judgment: Manages moderately complex tasks independently. Problems may involve multiple factors but remain within familiar contexts. Draws on practical experience to choose effective solutions. Judgment is reliable for day-to-day decisions and considers short-term impacts.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
• Ability to obtain a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
• 1+ years experience in 3D modeling using SolidWorks or Siemens

The salary range for this role is 43,400 USD - 82,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
