Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Front End/To Go Operations Lead to manage daily To Go operations, hire and develop staff, and ensure top customer service across departments. You will schedule workers, monitor performance, and drive store profitability while maintaining safety and standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, training, and collaboration with department managers to deliver high-quality service and accurate order fulfillment, including managing perishables and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Strong store operations and merchandising understanding.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Willingness to meet minimum age requirements for specific functions.
• National Registry of Food Safety Professionals Certified Food Safety Manager or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead Food Lion To Go operations, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise performance and conduct formal appraisals for direct reports.
• Maintain effective work schedules for To Go associates to meet online order demand.
• Provide leadership to promote a culture aligned with Guiding Principles and Values.
• Support budgeted financial and operating results.
• Partner with department managers to ensure proper handling of fresh orders and out-of-stock items.
• Ensure timely return-to-stock handling for perishable items.
• Model outstanding customer service and use product knowledge to meet customer needs.
• Control expenses through proper ordering and care for supplies and equipment.
• Utilize company tools and systems (ACIS, CAO, scheduling, reports) and learn ACIS.
• Maintain department appearance, quality, and sanitation standards.
• Understand scheduling, sales projections, wage percent, hiring, training and store operations knowledge.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions and report incidents.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Adhere to company guidelines and security standards.
• Complete CBT and training materials as required.
• Provide recognition and constructive feedback to boost customer satisfaction and store sales.
• Meet physical requirements of the position with or without accommodations.
• Support Front End operations as needed.
