Job summary

Akrapoint is hiring an experienced Title Specialist to design and build title processes from day 1. The Title Specialist II–IV owns the entire title workflow, coordinating with outsourced partners and internal teams to perfect security interests in financed equipment.

Responsibilities include reviewing titles and UCC filings, communicating instructions, and ensuring regulatory compliance across jurisdictions. Files, records, and processes must be accurate and timely.

Qualifications

• 2–6+ years experience in equipment finance, commercial lending, title, lien, DMV, UCC, documentation, or lending-operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of vehicle titles, lien perfection, UCC filings, and collateral documentation preferred.
• Knowledge of state transportation regulations, commercial vehicle terminology, and non-titled equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-up, and record keeping for high-volume data entry.
• Strong professional communication skills and ability to coordinate with customers, vendors, government agencies, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Review financed equipment to determine applicable title, registration, UCC, or other lien-perfection requirements under established procedures.
• Coordinate title and lien requirements for vehicles, trailers, specialty equipment, and other titled assets across applicable jurisdictions.
• Prepare and communicate title, lienholder, registration, and related instructions to customers, vendors, dealers, and other parties.
• Review titles, MSOs/MCOs, applications, VINs, serial numbers, invoices, ownership information, and related collateral documentation for accuracy and consistency.
• Process title applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state transportation regulations.
• Perform or coordinate required UCC searches, filings, amendments, releases, subordinations, and other lien-related administration for non-titled equipment.
• Identify existing liens, ownership discrepancies, filing issues, or other collateral concerns and coordinate resolution or escalation before funding.
• Maintain accurate title, lien, filing, and collateral records within Company systems.
• Coordinate with Sales Coordinators, Credit, Documentation, customers, vendors, legal resources, and servicing partners as needed.
• Establish complete post-funding title or lien follow-up requirements and provide an orderly handoff to outsourced title work service as needed.
• Ultimately responsible for fulfilling all applicable collateral security processes.
• Maintain working knowledge of applicable title, DMV, UCC, and equipment-finance collateral procedures and contribute to process and automation improvements.
• Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
